Welcome, Maaike.
Nice that you're here.
Nice to see you, Ricarda.
Happy to be here.
So what we want to do today is test the anonymization tool Textwash or Fantafoss that was developed by Bennett, Kleinberg and colleagues.
Yes, we want to try ourselves if we can de-identify all the identifying information in this little audio segment that we are recording.
It will serve as a test in our workshop, making qualitative data reusable, that we will hold during the DCC Spring Training Days on May 23rd, 2024.
Right.
So to already throw in some identifying details, right now it is Tuesday, 23rd of April, 2024, 11 o'clock.
Indeed.
And we are located at DANS, Data Archiving and Networked Services.
in conference room V2 of the Dons building at Anna van Saxenlaan 51 in De Heek, right across from the MVO.
That is correct.
So Maaike, tell me a bit more about yourself.
Where do you live?
How old are you?
When did you start working at DANS?
And what is your current role in the organization?
Yeah, let's see if all these identifying details are picked up in this little experiment.
So my name is Maaike Verburg.
I live in Alphen aan den Rijn.
I am 27 years old.
I started working for DANS in 2021 and currently I am part of the experts section as a research data management specialist.
To make it a bit more specific, I am also part of the smaller training team at DANS.
How about you, Ricarda?
So I am Dr. Ricarda Brauchmann.
I live in Utrecht, but I travel to The Hague for two days a week at least.
I am 36 years old.
I started working at Danz about six years ago.
It was my first job after my PhD, actually.
I started out being part of the expert section, just like you, Maike, but I'm now part of the data section as data station manager, social sciences.
Thank you for sharing all of this.
I think the work we do at DANS is really great, actually, especially doing trainings together and promoting open science and fair data like this.
Yes, I'm already very much looking forward to our workshop on the 23rd of May.
And actually, I'm very curious about the performance of the anonymization tool.
Yes, me too.
Shall we stop here and try it out?
Yes, let's get to work.
